Before We Kiss by Susan Mallery
Release Date: May 28th

 Synopsis
***Pub Date: May 28th***

New York Times bestselling sensation Susan Mallery returns to Fool's Gold, California, where it's true that sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs…

Former pro-football kicker Sam Ridge has notoriously bad luck with women—from cheaters to fame chasers. Still, the gorgeous brunette at the bar in Fool's Gold looks harmless—until she takes him home and he discovers a room devoted to securing a man, for life.

Dellina Hopkins never guessed that storing gowns from a friend's bridal boutique would chase away her first and only fling. After her parents died, she skipped her "wild youth" to raise her sisters. She doesn't want forever from Sam, but one night—all night—would've been nice.

His clean getaway gets messy when his firm hires Dellina to plan an event. As long hours lead to late nights, the two succumb to temptation again. Has Sam's luck finally changed? Or this time, will Dellina be the one to run?

My Review
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

Heart Worming, sweet, and sexy are just a few words that describes Before We Kiss. Mallery has always been a pro at creating awesome characters. Sam is a retired football player that is just so yummy. Sam has always had horrible relationships in the past. So when a good woman comes along, he hesitates to let her into is heart.

I have always been in love with the Fools Gold series! Every time I see a new one out, I rush to get a copy. I was really captivated by this book. I really enjoyed the plot, and story line of this book. Sam and Dellina's story was cute.

Sam and Dellina had sex before this book, and Sam saw something that had him running from Dellina whenever he saw her. I thought that was funny. It created a nice connection between the characters. Dellina really tried to stay away from Sam sexually because they were working together. But, one thing led to another. Mallery is the queen of romance.

Dellina is an amazing party planner. I wish I had her skills. Sam and his partners at score wanted to throw a party for some of their business clients. Dellina planned the party, and lets just say I really wished I was there.

I really liked the side stories that was going on. I was surprised that Mayor Marsha had her own side story, but I really enjoyed it. I thought the side story about Dellina's sister was cute, but it also was a bit annoying. I wish we could have caught up with some of the other characters from the past like we do in other books!

I am a huge FG fan, and I am excited to read the next book in this series!!!

When We Met (Fool's Gold #13) Susan Mallery

Pub Date: April 28th, 2014
Publisher: Harlequin

Synopsis

New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery invites you back to Fool's Gold, where a newcomer to town might finally meet the man she never knew she needed…

Angel Whittaker earned his scars the hard way, but the scars that can't be seen are the ones that haunt him the most. Since he moved to Fool's Gold, California, he's cobbled together a life for himself as a bodyguard trainer. If he's not exactly happy, at least his heart is safe.

Working with pro-football superstars taught tough-talking PR woman Taryn Crawford one thing—she can go toe to toe with any man. But then dark, dangerous former Special Ops Angel targets her for seduction…and challenges her to resist his tempting kisses.

Even in four-inch heels, Taryn never backs down. Unless, somehow, Angel can convince her that surrender might feel even better than victory.

When I first started reading the Fools Gold series, I fell in love with Susan's writing. Susan shows us romance, humor, love, family, and friends in all of her books. I love returning to the Fools Gold world. It is a home away from home. It is always fun to visit some of our old friends, while taking a journey with the new.

Mallery brings us the love story of Angel and Taryn. In most Susan Mallery's book the characters are broken in some way. Mallery shows us that no one is perfect. Angel is afraid to love again. He lost his wife and son in a car crash. He blames himself because he was not there to stop it from happening. Taryn has trust issues. It is hard for her to fully trust someone. It is hard for her to let go, and just let some one help her.

Miss Mallery grabs the reader from chapter one, and keeps a good grip until the end. Even after it's over, she leaves you wanting more. Miss Mallery has always been at the top of my favorite authors list, but with this book, she has made it to the first spot.

Fools Gold is never complete with out romance. As I have said many times, I am a sucker for romance. The way the romance between Angel and Taryn is brought about in this book is perfect. It teases the readers with more and more to come. In previous books we were able to see the chemistry !between Angel and Taryn. Both Angel and Taryn are new to Fools Gold, and they are trying to fit into the town. I think Mallery really did a great job with creating these two characters. They really are made for each other

I really enjoy all of the side stories that Mallery brings to the table. It gets  the readers excited for the next book.I am really looking forward to read the other books that are coming out this year!! This book hits the stores really soonl. Make sure to pre- order your copy now!!

Review: Evening Stars (Blackberry Island #3) by Susan Mallery

Evening Stars (Blackberry Island #3)

Pub Date: Feb 25th 2014

New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery returns to Blackberry Island with the poignant tale of two sisters on the verge of claiming their dreams.

Small-town nurse Nina Wentworth has made a career out of being a caretaker. More "Mom" than their mother ever was, she sacrificed medical school—and her first love—so her sister could break free. Which is why she isn't exactly thrilled to see Averil back on Blackberry Island, especially when Nina's life has suddenly become…complicated.

Nina unexpectedly finds herself juggling two men—her high school sweetheart and a younger maverick pilot who also wants to claim her heart. But as fun as all this romance is, Nina has real life to deal with. Averil doesn't seem to want the great guy she's married to, and doesn't seem to be making headway writing her first book; their mom is living life just as recklessly as she always has; and Nina's starting to realize that the control she once had is slipping out of her fingers. Her hopes of getting off the island seem to be stretching further away…until her mother makes a discovery that could change everything forever.

But before Nina and Averil can reach for the stars, they have to decide what they want. Will Averil stay? Will Nina leave? And what about the men who claim to love them? Does love heal, or will finding their happy ending mean giving up all they've ever wanted?

This is book 3 in the Black Berry Island series. I was excited when I saw this book on NetGalley. I have read book one and two, and loved them both. This time we get to read about Nina.

I rated this book 4 stars because something was missing. When I finished reading the book I felt incomplete. I thought something else should have been added to the book. All through out the book everyone had some type of problem, and just out of the blue everything was perfect. I thought the ending could have been rapped up a little better.

Now on to the good stuff! I thought the romance between Nina and Kyle was cute... but he was a bit to excited to see Nina. "Hey, Nina." The voice was low and sexy, but not the least bit familiar. "Who are you?" "You don't remember?" "No, she didn't and he was still holding her. She struggled a bit, and he quickly set her on her feet. She swayed as she found her balance, and was about to take a step back when he put his hands on her waist, drew her against him and kissed her. Just like that. If you would like to know what happened after that... well you should read the book!

I thought it was funny when he reminded her about the crush he had on her, when she use to babysit his sister. "I'm Kyle Eastland. The last time I saw you, I was twelve years old. It was August. A Tuesday. You were so beautiful." um... can you say stalker!

Even though Kyle is a bit stalkerish, I really liked his character. However, I liked Dylan even better. Dylan is an awesome character. He told Nina exactly what he wanted, and he went for it. Kyle jumped head first, and Dylan took his time. I liked both characters. It was hard to choose who I liked better, but Dylan won. Dylan was just one of those really sweet type of guys. Nina was sick, and he took care of her. Not a lot of guys would do that.Nina was one lucky girl!

Okay, at the beginning I did not like Bonnie, Nina's mom. She was so selfish, and she reminded me of a child. She treated her children like they were the parents, and she was the child. After a while she grew on me, and I actually began to like her.

Miss Mallery has written a captivating book with awesome characters. The plot and flow of this book was really good. There were a few slow moments in this book, but nothing I couldn't handle!
Over all I really enjoyed this book, and I am excited to see what is next for this series! I highly recommend this book!
