*My Review*

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Okay so I knew this was going to be a good book, but it really took me by surprise. I absolutely loved this book. I love reading paranormal books, but this was outside of the box, and that is why I think I loved it so much.

If you are looking for vampires, werewolves, fairies, and all of the other regular paranormal characters, your are in the wrong place. But, if you are ready for a book that will sweep you up and take you on a ride, you are in the right place. Elemental Enchanters are kind of like witches in a way, but so much better.

Ava is a water enchanter. She can breathe under water, and so many other cool things. Her boyfriend Thomas is a fire enchanter. The other members in her coven all are powerful enchanters. Ava is having problems with Thomas because she likes a human by the name of Peter. Enchanters are supposed to protect humans, not date them.

I really liked Peter. Through out the book he knew he wanted Ava, and he did everything he could to be with her. Ava tried her hardest to push Peter away, but he kept hanging on. I really enjoyed watching Peter and Ava's relationship grow.

This book had me on my toes from the beginning to the end. I couldn't put this book down. When I was finished, I had to read the next one. I devoured this book within a couple of hours, and I loved every bit of it. I love this world that Carrigan has created. I was rooting for Ava and Peter the entire time. But, I felt bad for Thomas as well.

I loved getting to know all of the other characters in this book. Their stories are just as important as Ava's, and I can't wait to return to this awesome world. I highly recommend this book to paranormal fans out there. I really hope you guys will like this book as much as I did. Two thumbs up Carrigan for this great book!

STAY

WITH ME TRAILER: EXCERPT: As I lay there, trying to swallow a loud, obnoxious yawn, I remembered something he’d said when we first met, about life being too short. I imagined he had firsthand experience with shortened lives while he was serving. That mentality came from experience. I got that now. Could even understand it, but there was something I didn’t understand. “Why?” I asked. There was a beat. “Why what?” Jax sounded tired, and I should shut up or point out that I was now tired and could sleep, so he could leave. But I didn’t. “Why are you here? You don’t know me and . . .” I trailed off, because there really wasn’t anything left to say. A minute went by, and he hadn’t answered my question, and then I think another minute ticked on, and I was okay with him not answering because maybe he didn’t even know. Or maybe he was just bored and that was why he was here. But then he moved. Jax pressed against my back, and the next breath I took got stuck in my throat. My eyes shot open. The sheet and blanket were between us, but they felt like nothing. “What are you doing?” I asked. “Getting comfortable.” He dropped an arm over my waist, and my entire body jerked against his. “It’s time to sleep I think.” “But—” “You can’t sleep when you talk,” he remarked. “You don’t need to be all up on me,” I pointed out. His answering chuckle stirred the hair along the back of my neck. “Honey, I’m not all up on you.” I freaking begged to differ on that point. I started to wiggle away, but the arm around my waist tightened, holding me in place. “You’re not going anywhere,” he announced casually, as if he wasn’t holding me prisoner in the bed. Okay. The whole prisoner thing might be melodramatic, but he wasn’t letting me up. Not when he was getting all kinds of comfy behind me. Oh my God, this was spooning. Total spooning. I was spooning with an honorary member of the Hot Guy Brigade. Did I wake up in a parallel universe? “Sleep,” he demanded, as if the one word carried that much power. “Go to sleep, Calla.” This time his voice was softer, quieter. “Yeah, it doesn’t work that way, Jax. You have a nice voice, but it doesn’t hold the power to make me sleep on your command.” He chuckled. I rolled my eyes, but the most ridiculous thing ever was the fact that after a couple of minutes, my eyes stayed shut. I . . . I actually settled in against him. With his front pressed to my back, his long legs cradling mine, and his arm snug around my waist, I actually did feel safe. More than that, I felt something else—something I hadn’t felt in years. I felt cared for . . . cherished. Which was the epitome of dumb, because I barely knew him, but feeling that, recognizing what the warm, buzzing feeling was, I fell right asleep.

My Review
 4 out of 5 stars

I have always enjoyed the Wicked Play series, so, I was excited to read this book.

Lynda Aicher has really took it up a notch in Shattered Bonds. Most of the other books in this series are surrounded by The Den and the BDSM lifestyle itself. So, naturally that is what I was expecting when I started reading this book. However, I was in for a surprise.

If you are new to this series I highly recommend you start at the beginning. I missed two of the books, but I wasn't really lost. I loved seeing all of the characters from the other books. The fact that they are more than friends, they are family really came out in this book. I really loved that the author showed us the love and the caring that the characters had for each other.

I really loved seeing Liv and Noah together. Liv is my favorite character out of all of the books. She was a complete sweetie, and she was perfect for Noah. She was a rock through out the entire book, and most importantly she was a rock for Noah.

Over all I really enjoyed this book, and I think this was a perfect ending to the series. I can't wait to see what Lynda Aicher comes up with next. I am sure it will be good. I don't want to give away any spoilers about this book, so I highly recommend you read this for yourself.

Excerpt

“Over here!”

“Back up. Let ’em through!”

“Hurry!”

The piercing ring of a siren squealed through the air to join the ongoing choir, and cut off the frantic calls before it faded into the distance. An abundance of blue and red lights peppered the cold night with their universal signal for trouble under the blinding spotlights erected around the crash site.

“This way!”

“I need the clamps!”

Chaos surged around Noah as he crouched next to a semiconscious Deklan, who was laid out on a backboard on the edge of the scene. The stench of blood, gas and coolant clouded the area and rode tandem with shouts from the firemen and the medical-filled jargon of the paramedics.

“What the fuck happened?”

He leaned in to catch the slurred words that tumbled from Deklan. Blood leaked through the cloth he held to the man’s head, where a good two-inch gash ran beneath his short hair. He made another scan of the accident and swallowed. His stomach cramped and heaved in a threat to empty itself.

“Stay still.” He braced his free hand on Deklan’s shoulder when the man tried to get up. The first responders had secured Deklan’s neck in a brace, did an injury assessment, then accepted Noah’s offer to stay with Deklan so they could get to the rest of the victims.

“Fuck you,” Deklan mumbled, grimaced and dropped back down. His face was bleach white, eyes hazy with pain and worry. “I need to get to Kendra.”

The desperate edge of panic in his friend’s voice had Noah clearing his throat. “I know.” Shit. He wiped a hand over his mouth and cringed. Too much blood.

My Review

 4 of 5 stars

I love a good road trip book. So, that's why I was excited to read this book. I wasn't sure if I was going to finish this book because it started out really slow, and it didn't pick up until about 40% or 50%. I am glad I stuck with it because Miss Fine really picked up the pace and adds an awesome twist to the book.

At first I really liked Jenna. She was a strong character who didn't take crap from anyone. But after a while I didn't know if I wanted to hug her, or shake her half to death. She kept pushing Jack away, and that got kind of annoying. I definitely respected her because she was determined to fulfill her goals for her life, and she wasn't going to let anyone especially a guy, get in her way.

Jack on the other hand was just yummy. He knew he wanted Jenna, and he was going to have her. He was so protective of his family and of Jenna. Jack was a good bad boy, and I loved it! I really liked all of his brothers, and his mom. I would love to see his brothers get their own story.

Over all I really enjoyed this book I would love to read more by Chelsea Fine. I recommend this book to all of you guys out there. Definitely give this book a read.

Blood Beyond Darkness was above and beyond better than what I thought it was going to be. I knew that this book was going to be extremely good, but it was epic. I have been a fan of this series since book 1 Darkness of Light. I have followed Eli and Ember's journey, and I freaking love those characters like they are my family members. Stacey has created a world that I will never forget, and I hope you guys won't forget this awesome series as well.

I cried, I laughed, I yelled, I cursed, and at one point I thought my heart had stopped beating. Blood Beyond Darkness was by far the best book that Stacey Marie Brown has written. Half of the time I did not know up from down. I literally could not book this book down. I can not tell you how long I stayed up just to finish this book. To say I devoured BBD is just a statement. I lived it, I breathe it, and most of all I loved it. Stacey kept me on the edge of my seat biting my nails because I was afraid of what was going to happen next. It is crazy, I am sitting here crying as I am writing this review. I know for a fact that my review will not even come close to how I felt about this book. I am so sad to see this series end, but at the same time I can't wait to get my hands on Stacey's next book. If you have not read this series, I think you definitely should, because you are missing out on one kick ass series.

Best part, but yet worse part about this book...all of the characters really grew up in this book. Don't get me wrong they were still crazy and funny, but it is just something about knowing you or someone you love may die that changes the way you see the world. Before I talk about Eli and Ember, I want to talk about Kennedy, Embers best friend.

Kennedy was one of the main people that really grew up in this book. She was always the quiet and reliable friend. But in this book she was a leader. At first I was hesitant about this new Kennedy, but I changed my mind quickly. I really liked this new Kennedy. I think Ember was really shocked at first too. That is just how much she changed. That battle at the end... yeah AMAZING!

Ember and Eli on the other hand did not really change that much, and I am so glad Stacey kept them mostly the same. Their flirty banter with each other has always been so cute , but it was even better this time around. The sexual chemistry between them was always hot, but this time it was burning up the pages, and I loved every moment of it. I have always loved Eli, but I love him even more. He was so sexy, protective, sweet, just... he was Eli. Stacey, Thank you. That is all I have to say.

Okay, I hope someone agrees with me. Simmons and Cal; which are the 2 pixies, are the funniest. They were cracking me up through out the entire book. I freaking almost peed my pants while reading the scene with the glitter and Eli! They were the best most loyal pixies ever!

Thank you Stacey for this awesome world, and these amazing characters. You are a extremely talented author, and I am so stoked to read your next book. Again if you have not read this series, please give it a read because you are in for a serious treat!

Darkness of Light (Darkness #1)

Ember Brycin has been called them all. She’s always known she’s different. No one has ever called her normal, even under the best circumstances. Bizarre and inexplicable things continually happen to her, and having two different colored eyes, strange hair, and an unusual tattoo only contributes to the gossip about her.

When the latest school explosion lands her in a facility for troubled teens, she meets Eli Dragen, who’s hot as hell and darkly mysterious. Their connection is full of passion, danger, and secrets. Secrets that will not only change her life, but what and who she is—leading her down a path she never imagined possible.

Between Light and Dark, Ember finds a world where truth and knowledge are power and no one can be trusted. But her survival depends on finding out the truth about herself. In her pursuit, she is forced between love and destiny and good and evil, even when the differences between them aren’t always clear. At worst, she will incite a war that could destroy both worlds. At best, she will not only lose her heart but her life and everyone she loves. Once the truth is out, however, there will be no going back. And she’ll definitely wish she could.

Fire in the Darkness (Darkness #2)

It's been four weeks since Ember Brycin witnessed what her powers are capable of. The Electrical Current Storm has turned Seattle, Washington into a natural disaster zone. The death toll is in the thousands with countless others homeless and hungry.
And Ember is the one who caused it. Something she will have to live with every day.

Those people who were unable to escape either turned quickly into gangs or live in shelters. Ember, on the other hand, can’t do either. With a price on her head and a Dark Dweller on her ass, she is constantly on the move. Both Light and Dark are hunting her for their own purpose to use her as a weapon or a pawn in the war between the Unseelie King of the Dark and the Seelie Queen of the Light.

Em needs help but doesn’t know who to trust: Lars, the mystery man Torin told her to find? Torin, the Seelie Queen’s personal knight, who has sworn to keep Em safe? Or Eli, who wants to turn her over to the Unseelie King, but whom she has an undeniable, intense connection with?

No matter what she chooses she will probably lose—her life or everything and everyone she loves.

Beast In The Darkness (An Elighan Dragen Novelette)

We know the story from Ember's POV, but what happens to Eli after Ember disappears? Crawl inside Eli's mind and experience what he goes through. Be warned his mind in not a fuzzy warm place to be....

Dwellers of Darkness (Darkness #3)

Some days feel like years, but in Ember Brycin’s case just the opposite is true. Em would be 22 now—if she were human. She’s not. She is a Dae—part Demon and part Fay—with a little Dark Dweller thrown in to make her more of a freak.

Life has become further complicated for Ember since returning from the Otherworld. Besides being continuously hunted by the Seelie Queen, Ember is at the top of the Unseelie King’s list, after breaking her oath with him. No one breaks a vow with the Unseelie King without extreme consequences.

Adding to Ember’s problems is a certain Dark Dweller whose mood has become violent and cruel. As much as she’d like to deny it, there is an undeniable connection between them. Eli is sexy, gorgeous, and frustrating as hell. She also knows he is holding something back, something that could change their relationship forever.

But her problems go way past him. As the tension for war mounts between the Seelie and Unseelie (Light and Dark), the tension at the Dark Dweller’s compound escalates even more as they prepare to obtain the Sword of Light—the only weapon able to kill the Queen.

But is Ember the answer to the location of the sword? Is she the one to fulfill the prophecy? As usual nothing is ever what it seems.
